‘Svitolina’s husband’ beats world No. 276 Monfis, No. 4 Tsitsipas

World No. 276 Gael Monfis (36) has defeated world No. 4 Stefanos Tsitsipas (24-GRE) in straight sets.

Monfis defeated Tsitsipas 2-0 (6-4 6-3) in the round of 32 of the National Bank Open ($6.6 million in prize money), part of the 2023 ATP Masters 1000 Series, on the hard courts of Sobeys Stadium in Toronto, Canada, on Monday (Sept. 9).
