Dion Thompson (34, 204 cm), who played for KCC in Jeonju last season, and Ronjay Avarientos, who played for Hyundai Mobis in Ulsan, will join the team.
The Shinshu Brave Warriors of the Japanese B.League announced on their official website that they have signed Dion Thompson.
Thompson is no stranger to Korea, having played for KCC in the 2022-2023 season. KCC brought him in late last season after releasing Rondae Hollis-Jefferson to take some of the pressure off Lagana. Thompson appeared in 13 games, averaging 15:40 minutes and averaging 8.5 points and 4.1 rebounds.
“I would like to thank the coaching staff and officials of Shinshu for signing me,” Thompson said via Shinshu’s official website. I don’t take it for granted that I can continue to play. I’ve played basketball all over the world, but never in Japan. I’m happy to be playing in the B.League.” 카지노사이트
Thompson’s new teammate Shinshu is also familiar to Korean fans. It is the same team that Yang Jae-min (Sendai) played for for two years, from the 2020-2021 season to the 2021-2022 season, and the same team that signed Ronjay Abarientos, who became the first Filipino to win the KBL Rookie of the Year award last season. Abarientos had a contract year remaining on his deal with Hyundai Mobis, but was unable to get a raise due to the $160,000 (approximately KRW200 million) salary cap for players in the Asian Quarter, so he headed to Xinxiu.
Shinshu finished third in the Central District with 29 wins and 30 losses last season, missing the playoffs. The offseason naturalized player Josh Hawkinson was sent to the SunRoccers Shibuya to overhaul the roster. The team will prepare for the new season with Avarientos in the front line and Thompson in the back.
