South Korean men’s archery standout Kim Woo-jin (Cheongju City) swept the men’s individual and team events at the Hyundai Archery World Cup Paris 4.

Kim Woo-jin defeated Lee Woo-seok (KORON) 6-0 (29-28 30-29 29-28) in the men’s individual recurve final at the Hyundai Archery World Cup Paris 2023, held at Parc des Anglais, Paris, France, on Tuesday (July 20).

Kim won two gold medals (team and mixed) at the World Archery Championships in Berlin, Germany, earlier this month. She didn’t make the podium in the individual event. But she made up for it by winning the individual event at the World Cup.

In the day’s semifinals, Kim defeated Mauro Nespoli (ITA) in a close 6-4 (28-29 28-28 28-28 29-28 29-28) match to reach the final.

It was Lee Woo-seok who competed for the title. Lee finished first in the individual qualifier and had won gold in the men’s team event and mixed team event earlier in the day. He attempted to make it a three-peat at the event, but had to settle for a silver medal after being outplayed by Kim Woo-jin.

Kim won the first three sets by a single point to clinch the title. “If I can carry this momentum into next year’s Olympic Games in Paris, I will be able to stand on the top of the podium,” said Kim, who was delighted with her achievement at Parc des Princes.

Choi Mi-sun (Gwangju Bank) was the only other women’s individual to reach the final four, taking bronze. She lost 4-6 (28-28 28-29 29-29 29-27 28-30) to defending champion Casey Kaufhold (USA) in the semifinals.

In the bronze medal match, it was Hai Ligan (CHN) who came from behind to defeat Lim and An San. Choi completed her teammate’s sweep, defeating Hai Ligan 7-3 (28-29 28-27 28-28 29-27 29-27).

Korean archery swept the gold medals, defeating Chinese Taipei in both the men’s and women’s team and mixed team finals.

The Korean women’s archery team of Lim Im-hyun (Korea Gymnastics University), Kang Chae-young (Hyundai Mobis) and An An (Gwangju Women’s University) defeated Chinese Taipei 6-2 (55-56 58-57 57-51 58-54) in the recurve women’s team final. 메이저사이트

In the men’s team final, Kim Woo-jin (Cheongju City Hall), Lee Woo-seok (Kolon) and Kim Jeduk (Yecheon County Hall) won the gold medal with a 6-0 (59-53 59-53 57-56) victory over Chinese Taipei.

In the final of the mixed team event, Lee Woo-seok and Lee Im-hyun won the title with a 5-3 (39-39 39-36 38-39 39-36) victory over Chinese Taipei.

With the win, Kim Woo-jin, Lee Woo-seok, and Lee Im-hyun won their second title of the tournament.

With the completion of the fourth World Cup, the Korean team will now begin preparations for the Hangzhou Asian Games next month.
