‘Crazy’ Saudi Al Ittihad target ‘EPL signing’ Salah “Ronaldo-Neymar salary levels”… Liverpool ‘offended’

Saudi Arabian league side Al Ittihad are reportedly targeting ‘Liverpool signing’ Mohamed Salah, 31, but the Reds are not considering selling him at all.
Foreign media outlet ‘CBS Sports’ reported on May 25 (KST), “Al Ittihad want to spend big on Salah before the end of the summer transfer market. But Liverpool are adamant they will never sell him.”
Since joining Liverpool from Italian side AS Roma in 2017, Salah has developed into one of the club’s signature players. Primarily playing on the right flank, he can also play as a second striker and center forward. He has 187 goals and 80 assists in 307 career appearances for Liverpool.
During his time at Liverpool, Salah has won one English Premier League title, one FA Cup, and one UEFA Champions League title.
Salah has recently been targeted by Saudi Arabian league teams, which have been attracting some of the world’s top soccer players.
“It has long been the plan of the Saudi sovereign wealth fund (PIF), the majority owner of four of the biggest clubs in the Saudi professional league, including Al Ittihad, to sign Salah,” CBS Sports reported, “and they appeared to be on track to do so in earnest in 2024, but that plan has accelerated in recent days. The PIF is determined to bring in Salah before the Club World Cup in December and put together the best possible squad for Al Ittihad.”
The FIFA Club World Cup, which pits continental champions from around the world against each other, will take place in Saudi Arabia from Dec. 12-22 local time.
If Salah makes the move to Al Ittihad, the team’s squad will be formidable. Salah would be joined by Ballon d’Or winner Karim Benzema and former Liverpool teammate Fabinho.
“Unless the rules of the Saudi Professional League change, Salah’s arrival will force one of the other foreign players at Al Ittihad to leave,” CBS Sports reported, “and that player will be winger Jota, who joined from Celtic last month.”
However, the chances of Liverpool letting their ‘ace’ Salah go are significantly lower. After finishing fifth in the league last season, the Reds are determined to win the title this season. 토토사이트
“Liverpool will not want to sell Salah when the transfer window closes on Sept. 1 (local time),” says CBS Sports, “and that’s a big hurdle.”
“Salah’s agent said: ‘If Salah had considered leaving Liverpool this year, he would not have re-signed last summer. Salah said last month that he will remain committed to Liverpool.” Salah still has two years left on his Liverpool contract.
Salah could touch ‘oil money’ if he goes to Al Ittihad.
“Salah could earn more money if he goes to Al Ittihad,” said CBS Sports, explaining that “sources say Salah will be on par with Cristiano Ronaldo (Al Nasr) and Neymar (Al Hilal) in terms of salary.”
Al Hilal, who recently embraced Neymar, reportedly promised him an annual salary of £129.2 million.
